TempStars COVID-19 News and Policy

At TempStars, of course the safety of all of members, and their patients is our top priority.

In light of recent news regarding the RCDSO urging dental care providers to suspend all non-essential dental care, we are creating a window for the cancellation of any shifts booked for the dates between March 16th and April 4th 15th.  Between 6pm and 9am Tuesday March 16th, any member may cancel a shift booked for the dates between March 16th and April 4th without penalty or compensation.

This means, if you are a hygienist or dental assistant who booked a shift through TempStars but feel you either pose a risk to patients or are concerned about yourself being at risk by providing dental care, you may cancel any shifts booked for the dates between March 16th and April 4th without penalty.

Similarly, if you are a dental office who finds yourself in the situation where you need to cancel a booked shift due to patient cancellations or due to the RCDSO direction, you may cancel any shifts booked for between the dates of March 16th and April 4th without penalty, and our short-notice cancellation will not apply.

To clarify, if you are deciding to cancel shifts that are booked for dates between March 15th and April 4th, you must cancel them right away and before 9am on Tuesday March 17th to be unaffected by standard penalties.

I never thought I’d be trying to come up with a policy regarding a global pandemic that affects our entire membership.  And our entire team discussed coming up with a policy that is fair to all our members, given these circumstances affect us all.

I wish everyone good health and a speedy passing of this situation.

Kindest regards,
