This is a unique opportunity for a Certified Dental Assistant who thrives on variety, autonomy, and meaningful patient care. Your primary role will be to support dental hygiene appointments in non-traditional settings — including retirement homes and long-term care facilities — while ensuring our senior patients feel comfortable and well cared for throughout every visit.
In this role, you will set up instrumentation and equipment across various locations, prepare and organize portable supplies, and maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols. You will be responsible for assembling and dismantling a mobile operatory in diverse environments, as well as supporting clinical tasks such as hard tissue charting, periodontal charting, and data entry for dictated clinical notes during hygiene procedures. Assisting with the transportation of equipment, which may involve light lifting, will also be part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
The ideal candidate holds a Certified/Registered Dental Assistant designation (CDA Level I or Level II preferred) and possesses a valid Police Records Check. You are confident and proficient with technology and computers, hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation, and are comfortable working in mobile and community-based settings. Strong communication and patient care skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt quickly and work independently. Experience with charting software or portable dental equipment is considered a definite asset.
In return, you will enjoy a supportive and positive working environment with a full-time, Monday to Friday schedule — no evenings or weekends. You will receive thorough training on mobile equipment and workflow, with all supplies and PPE provided. Mileage reimbursement is offered for travel to surrounding areas of Ottawa. Most importantly, you will be part of a community-focused team doing meaningful work that makes a genuine difference in the lives of seniors.
