Dental Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Dental Assistant to join the Harriston Family Dental team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care, supporting clinical procedures, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Experience with Open Dental software, orthodontics, and pediatrics will be highly valued, and you will thrive in an environment where patient comfort and clinical excellence are at the forefront of everything we do. What You'll Be Doing: You will prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols, and assist the dentist during a variety of procedures, including orthodontic and pediatric treatments. Additional responsibilities include taking and developing dental radiographs using CAD technology, managing patient records through OpenDental software, and providing clear patient education on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care. When needed, you will also support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow. Throughout every interaction, you will ensure patients feel comfortable and well-informed while maintaining a clean, organized, and regulation-compliant clinical environment. What We're Looking For: Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, particularly in orthodontics, pediatrics, or general dentistry. Familiarity with OpenDental and dental procedures involving CAD technology is a strong asset. A solid understanding of dental and medical terminology, along with excellent communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented approach, will set you up for success in this role.
