We are looking for a friendly, motivated, and organized Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team. The ideal candidate will bring excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for providing exceptional patient care. In this role, you will assist dentists during examinations, treatments, and procedures, while preparing treatment rooms, instruments, and materials to ensure everything runs smoothly. You will be responsible for sterilizing and disinfecting dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention and control standards, as well as taking and processing dental X-rays where appropriately certified and authorized. Ensuring patient comfort throughout their visits is a key priority, along with maintaining accurate patient records and keeping treatment information up to date. You will also provide patients with post-treatment instructions and oral hygiene education, maintain a clean and well-organized workspace, manage dental supply inventory, and assist with scheduling and other administrative duties as needed. Collaboration with dentists, dental hygienists, and administrative staff will be essential to supporting smooth daily operations, and adherence to all applicable health, safety, and infection control protocols is expected at all times. The ideal candidate will hold a Dental Assisting diploma or certificate, with Level II Dental Assistant certification preferred. HARP certification is required for taking dental radiographs in Ontario. Previous dental office experience is a strong asset, as is familiarity with dental practice management software. A solid understanding of dental instruments, procedures, and sterilization protocols is important, along with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy dental environment. A professional, reliable, and patient-focused attitude is essential.
