Position Overview

Dental Assistant Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Assistant to join our team at a fast-paced, comprehensive dental clinic. With a staff of over 35, and 7 Operatories, our office provides a full range of dental services, including general dentistry, cosmetic procedures, oral surgery, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a dynamic clinical environment and is committed to delivering excellent patient care. Key Responsibilities • Assist dentists with all dental procedures including restorative, surgical, endodontic, and orthodontic treatments. • Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensure their comfort, and provide pre- and post-operative instructions as needed. • Clean, disinfect treatment areas according to current health and safety standards and transfer instruments to the Steri area. • Prepare operatories with the appropriate instruments and materials before patient appointments. • Take digital x-rays and intraoral images as prescribed by the dentist. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, document procedures, and assist with charting. • Monitor and restock clinical supplies; notify management of low inventory or special supply needs. • Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff to ensure a smooth flow of patients and high-quality service. • Adhere to regulatory standards, including those set by the RCDSO, IPAC, and OSHA. Qualifications • Completion of a certified Dental Assisting program (Level I or Level II preferred) • Current HARP certification and CPR/First Aid certification • Registration with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (if applicable) • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a dental clinic preferred, especially in a busy or multi-specialty setting • Proficiency with dental software (Tracker) an asset • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills • Friendly, patient-centered attitude with a professional demeanor Working Conditions • Fast-paced clinical environment • Must be comfortable working in close contact with patients and colleagues • Flexible hours may be required, including evenings or weekends • Physical requirements include standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs
